Master Sensei Steve Sohn
CEO Steve Sohn was born in "The Bronx," New York in 1949. He has been studying Martial Arts for 36 years with Black Belts in various systems. He is also one of the elite Instructors in the nation to be a Certified Krav Maga Law Enforcement Instructor. A retired New York City Instrumental Music Instructor, School District Coordinator and Elementary School Principal, Steve has an A.A.S. degree in Music, a B.S. in Music, M.S. in Administration and Supervision and a M.S. in Media and Television Technology. Steve opened Jujitsu Concepts Krav Maga Training Center in February, 1990.

Under the tutelage and guidance of Steve Sohn the school has won many awards for quality and service to its students throughout the last two decades.

Most recently Steve was awarded with the Martial Arts Spirit Award in 2007 and in 2008 won the Martial Arts Entrepreneur of the Year Award by the Educational Funding Company; the largest international Martial Arts consulting company in the world. Steve Sohn’s Jujitsu Concepts is considered to be one of the most successful and unique Martial Arts schools in the country. In 2005, Steve was elected to the Krav Maga Worldwide Advisory Board in recognition of his service to the system. Recently he has been a guest lecturer and motivational speaker at various Martial Arts Business Conventions both nationally and internationally.

In February 2006 Steve was elected as an Advisory Board Member with the Educational Funding Company due to his unique business acumen. In 2007 Steve solidified Jujitsu Concept’s status and legacy in the Krav Maga community when it became one of six schools in the entire world to be designated a Regional Training Center.

In 2009 Steve Sohn became one of the few people in the country to earn his Black Belt in Krav Maga. At the time that he received his Black Belt there were less than 100 people in the country to have the distinguished honor of having earned the rank of Black Belt. This is even more impressive given Steve’s age. He is currently the oldest Instructor to have taken the Krav Maga Black Belt exam. He is honored to have been tested by Krav Maga Chief Instructor Darren Levine and Kokushi Matsumoto.

Sensei Erika Beintrexler
Program Director, Erika Beintrexler was born in Houston, Texas in 1982. Early on in life she moved around quite a bit before her family settled down in Eastchester, New York. Erika began taking Martial Arts when she was 14 years old and she began teaching Martial Arts at 15 years old when she became a certified Martial Arts Instructor. At 18 she became the youngest certified Krav Maga Instructor with only one other female in her Training class.

Throughout many of the various certification levels Erika would often be the only female in the training class being tested against men twice her size.

In addition to her physical accomplishments, Erika is well known in the International Martial Arts community for her administrative accomplishments. In 2002 Erika was the winner of the Administrative Excellence Award from the Martial Arts Association of America. In 2006 and 2008 she won the Outstanding Program Director Award from the Educational Funding Company, the world's largest International Martial Arts billing company. In 2007 she won the Program Director of the Year Award from Krav Maga Worldwide - the International governing body of Krav Maga.

In 2009 Erika had the honor of having the unique distinction of being the only Program Director in the nation to receive Program Director awards four consecutive years when she was again awarded the 2009 Outstanding Program Director Award by the Educational Funding Company. For all awards Erika was chosen after a careful review of thousands of other Martial Arts schools’ Program Directors. Erika has also helped conduct business seminars with Sensei Steve Sohn at the International Martial Arts Summit in Nashville, Tennessee and Key Biscayne, Florida that were attended by thousands of Martial Artists from around the world.

In 2009 Erika Beintrexler became the 10th female Krav Maga Black Belt in the country at a time when there were less than 100 people, male and female who earned the distinguished honor of having earned the rank of Black Belt. She is honored to have been tested by Krav Maga Chief Instructor Darren Levine and Krav Maga Japan’s Chief Instructor Kokushi Matsumoto.

 

Sensei Greg Melia
Head Instructor, Greg Melia was born in 1985 in Yonkers, NY. Greg started training at Jujitsu Concepts when he was seven years old. Excelling at Martial Arts, Greg earned a 1st Degree Black Belt at the young age of fourteen. Early on, he showed a natural ability in architecture receiving high acclaim and an award for one of his architectural models before realizing that teaching Martial Arts was where his heart lay. Greg achieved his Krav Maga certification at the age of eighteen.

Loved by all of our students for his commitment and dedication, Greg teaches the children's class, Krav Maga, Grappling/Brazilian Jujitsu & Mixed Martial Arts. Greg brings a lot of experience into the classroom from his 17 years of combined training. He is also the staff Martial Arts Instructor at Congregation Kol Ami and the Jewish Community Center of Mamaroneck.

In 2007 he received the Most Inspiring Instructor award from the Educational Funding Company, the world's largest International Martial Arts billing company, and the Marni Levine Fighting Spirit award from Krav Maga Worldwide - the International governing body of Krav Maga. Most recently in 2009 Greg was again chosen to receive the Most Inspiring Instructor award from the Educational Funding Company. For all three awards Greg had the distinction of being chosen over thousands of other Martial Arts Instructors due to his dedication to the school, students and interest in improving his teaching methods

 

Sensei Gina Fico
Gina Fico was born in 1989 in Yonkers, New York. A natural athlete, Gina excelled at both dance from an early age and Martial Arts in her teenage years. In 2006 Gina was personally selected by Sensei Steve to become a Children’s Instructor because of her athletic talents and sunny disposition. Gina continued to show her Martial Arts proficiency when she became a certified Krav Maga Instructor in 2008. Gina is currently a student at Fordham University, where she is in the College of Business Administration. Her major is Business Administration.

 

Sensei Rob ("Robbie") Morelli
Rob Morelli was born in 1984 in Port Jervis, New York. At the age of 2 his family moved and settled in Mahopac, where they currently reside. Throughout his life, Robbie has made fitness a priority by participating in high action sports and activities such as lacrosse, baseball, and paintball. However, it wasn’t until later years that he began to make Martial Arts and fitness an integral part of his life and career.

Robbie is a certified Krav Maga Instructor and a certified Krav Maga Fitness Instructor. He has been a part of the Jujitsu Concepts family since 2008. A testament to his Martial Arts dedication and to learn the latest in fighting techniques, Robbie has trained both nationally and internationally at various schools in New York, Caliornia, Maryland, and Italy. He is going to school part-time at Duchess Community College working towards a degree in Kinesiology and Exercise Science.

 

Sensei David Fajardo
David David Fajardo was born in 1987 in New Rochelle, New York. David has always enjoyed educating children on the importance of physical fitness in their lives. Before teaching Martial Arts he was loved by his community as a children’s soccer coach. His enthusiasm for health and fitness is demonstrated by the amount of time he dedicates to the gym, Krav maga and other Xtreme Sports. David has a strong work ethic putting himself through Fordham University and earning his Business degree in 2008. David has the proud distinction of not only putting himself through school, but also becoming the first person in his family to graduate from College.

 

 

 
Sensei Antonio (Anthony) Colon
Sensei Anthony Anthony Colon was born in 1982 in the Bronx. His love for the Martial Arts began in High School where he began training in wrestling, grappling and Martial Arts. Anthony was one of the few students on his wrestling team selected to compete in different countries including Bulgaria, Italy, Palau, Saipan, Guam and Hawaii all while having the distinction of having the Highest Student Athlete GPA. Anthony also was proud to be the first in his family to graduate from college when he graduated from Hofstra University with a BA in Psychology. Upon completion he was hired by USG – United States Gypsum Company as a demolition foremen. After realizing that he could make Martial Arts his career he left the company and has been working with us ever since.
 
Master Larry Attile
Larry Attile is a graduate of Columbia University with degrees in Philosophy and Theater Arts. He has over 30 years of Tai Chi experience, and has a Third Degree Black Belt in Taekwondo and Hapkido. He studied Tai Chi, Push Hands and Tai Chi Boxing with William C.C. Chen. He studied Chi Kung, Tai Chi and Taoist Meditation techniques with Mantak Chia. Larry is also a certified Feldenkrais – Awareness Through Movement practitioner. Larry has also appeared in Major Motion Pictures such as Spike Lee’s Malcolm X and Prime Time Television programs like NYPD Blue and Law & Order.
Kim Pistolesi
Kim Pistolesi was born in White Plains, NY in 1972. She has lived in Eastchester all her life. Kim graduated from Eastchester High School in 1990 and received her cosmetology license that same year. Currently she works as a travel agent, real estate sales associate and a reader for a title company. A natural people person, Kim loves teaching the Xtreme Fitness Kickboxing ad children’s classes. Chances are if you have tried a class with us you spoke with Kim on the phone to set up your appointment. She has been an Instructor since 2002. Kim is also a mother of two beautiful boys.

 

 

 

Donna LaRocca
Donna LaRocca was born in Westchester, NY in 1967. She lived in Yonkers for 26 years. Donna graduated from Roosevelt High School in 1985 and completed a Cosmetologist Degree in 1986. After changing careers she began working at IBM and decided to complete her Associates Degree in accounting at Berkley College. After Berkley, while employed at MCI she completed the Accelerated Degree Program for Business Administration at Concordia College in 1994. She is a current resident of Eastchester. As a mother of three, Donna began teaching Xtreme Fitness Kickboxing at Jujitsu Concepts in December of 2002.

 

 

 
Laura Russo
Laura Russo Xtreme Fitness Kickboxing Instructor Laura Russo was born in the Bronx 1969. She attended Berkley Business School graduating with an Associate’s Degree. Upon graduation she worked at Albert Einstein Hospital as a secretary. Early on her superiors noticed Laura’s strong work ethic and she was promoted to Supervisor. Laura maintained her position there for eight years. In 1995 she left her career at the Hospital for her most rewarding and fulfilling job, becoming a stay at home mother to three children. Laura has been teaching Kickboxing with us since 2004.
